Experiments

UKSPI is pioneering experiments. We have decided to share a few of our pioneering experiments that have been either developed, or improved by the research conducted by UKSPI.

Musical Experiment

During at least one of the vigils contucted during an investigation, different types of music will be played out into the room. The music consists of both classical and modern pop and rock. It is not yet certain why spirits tend to react to different types of music, but a number of substantial evidence has been collected whilst playing music during a vigil.

Although the spirits of some eras will not understand or recognise modern rock music, although it may be music to us, it might be an annoying noise to the spirits. UKSPI has tested this theory, and has gained some very interesting results.

Earthly Drone Experiment

UKSPI has just started developing a new method of producing an earthy drone during an investigation. In many cultures it is believed that using a simple instrument to produce an earthy drone can 'entice' spirits and draw them into a certain area. This is not proven, and UKSPI has just started this experiment.

UKSPI has tested a number of differnt items to produce an earth drone, but the Australian Digeridoo appears to be the most successful. UKSPI will be testing the Digeridoo at a number of locations over the next few months.

Trigger Objects

It is thought that spirits can move an object that is associated with them. So on investigation UKSPI will place down objects associated with the history of the building as well as those which have no association with the property. These areas are then locked off, and the objects places on a sheet of secure paper, which has the outline of the image drawn in black felt pen. A video camera is placed looking at the object for a period of time.

The movement of the object may indicate it has been moved by a spirit, however, UKSPI does watch back the tape to see at what point the object moved.

Seance

It is believed that a seance can offer energy to a spirit. Many paranormal groups use seances as a way of combining spiritual energy and offering this energy to a spirit to manifest. This has sometimes proved successful. It is thought that a medium is always need in a seance. UKSPI conducts seances with both mediums, and ones without mediums to compare results.

Glass Divination

This process is almost the same as a seance. It is a cross between a seance and an ouija board. By placing spiritual energy into the glass, and placing fingers onto it, it is thought that a spirit can move the glass. The glass has sucessfully moved on a number of occasions, but it is not clear whether this has been paranormal or psychological. UKSPI is tallying results from each location to understand the workings of this controversial experiment.

Automatic Handwriting

It is believed that clearing the mind can allow spirits to harness a person's energy and give information about them and their lives, this being on a subconcious level. Automatic Handwriting is the way in which this subconcious message can be amplified and then read. Many mediums use this method, and UKSPI tries this method with both medium as investigators.

Psychic Art

Same principle as Automatic Handwriting but uses pictures rather than words. Usually a portrait of a spirit.

Dowsing

Dowsing is a method that has been used for over a thousand years. Usually used for finding water of laylines, it can also be used to ask questions to a spirit. It is believed that the human mind will move the dowsing rods or pendulum from subconcious methods passed from a spirit entity.

Infra-Red and Ultra-Violet Lights

UKSPI uses a series of lights covering a large area of the light spectrum. The visable of the lights being Infra-Red, UV and visable. UKSPI uses all of these to see if spirits can be seen though different lights. This has thusfar, proved unsuccessful.
